I’ve been visiting Florida’s Treasure Coast for nearly 15 years, and it’s one of my favorite romantic escapes.
Tucked along the Atlantic coast, this often-overlooked region offers quiet beaches, local wineries, delicious coastal dining, and cozy experiences made for two, without the touristy chaos of other Florida hotspots.
In this guide, I’ll take you through a full 2-day itinerary designed just for couples, featuring my personal favorite beaches, restaurants, and activities across Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce, Jensen Beach, and more.
Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, planning a weekend escape, or just need a little sunshine and together time, this itinerary has everything you need to fall in love with the Treasure Coast.
Florida’s Treasure Coast 2 Day Itinerary For Couples
I first came across Florida’s Treasure Coast when my grandparents moved there when I was in college.
Ever since, I’ve spent several weeks a year exploring the area with friends, family, and now my husband.
This itinerary has all of my favorite things to do and places to eat.
Day 1: Beach Day
Today’s itinerary will cover more of the north and central parts of Florida’s Treasure Coast.
Mainly Hutchinson Island, Fort Pierce, and Port St. Lucie.
Morning: Hutchinson Island South Beach
I love this beach because it’s so low-key, but still has essential amenities like bathrooms.
The water is very clean and clear and the sand is pretty pristine as well.
The waves aren’t too strong either.
Lunch: Manatee Island Bar & Grill
Manatee Island Bar & Grill is in Fort Pierce and is only about 10-15 minutes away from the Hutchinson Island beach.
It’s right on the water with great views on a sunny day.
My new favorite dish here is their chicken lettuce wraps.
It’s a lighter lunch, perfect for a beach day, but still hearty with the chicken filling.
You probably want to try some of their fresh seafood though, which includes breaded shrimp, fish & chips, gumbo, and shrimp po’ boys.
They also serve one of my favorite side dishes – plantains!
I recommend the Key Lime Pie for dessert, because you’re in Florida, and just because it’s my favorite dessert ever.
Afternoon: Summer Crush Winery
Summer Crush is less than 30 minutes away from Manatee Island.
They have Florida grown wines, which are sweet fruit wines for the most part.
You can go up to the counter for a traditional wine tasting and go out back to enjoy live music.
I like that they have some activities like giant checkers and corn hole too.
Dinner: Tutto Fresco
Tutto Fresco is an Italian restaurant in Port St. Lucie, which is about 20 minutes away from Summer Crush.
They have a variety of classic pasta dishes you’d expect from an Italian restaurant, plus garlic bread and meatballs.
When we went here, we were staying with my grandparents, so we ordered our meal to go to have at home with a large group, so we got to sample a little bit of everything.
I will say, the meatballs were not my favorite, they were too compact, and I prefer a little more texture.
Evening: Night Swim
Tonight, enjoy the amenities of your hotel or resort!
Maybe even head back to the beach to enjoy a sunset.
Day 2: Local Sites
Today’s itinerary covers more of the central Treasure Coast area and goes south toward Jensen Beach and Stuart.
There’s a good mix of outdoor activities, historical sites, and fun couples activities.
Morning: Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens
This botanical garden isn’t huge, but it’s large enough to spend at least an hour.
It’s divided into a variety of areas with different kinds of plant life and it is very colorful!
I love that they also have a large pond with lots of seating areas around it.
If you work remotely, you could spend a couple hours here enjoying the fresh air and scenery while getting some work done.
Lunch: Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House
Dolphin Bar and Shrimp House is located in Jensen Beach, about 20 minutes from the botanical garden.
They have pretty much every type of shrimp possible, so if you love seafood, this is for you.
As a starter, I recommend the calamari.
Depending on the type of shrimp you order, there are a variety of sides you can get including rice, beans, and plantains.

There’s sandwiches and pasta for the carb lovers too.
The first photo is a shrimp po-boy served with onion straws, followed by a brat, also served with onion straws.

Afternoon: Navy SEAL Museum
The Navy SEAL Museum is up north in Fort Pierce, so it’s about a 45 minute drive.
But, you can take Ocean Drive all the way up Hutchinson Island, so it’ll be a scenic beach drive.
One thing to note is that they are always closed on Mondays, so you can change this itinerary around if that interferes with it.
What’s really fun is that they have an obstacle course, just like you’d see in movies, where you can actually test your skills and see how you fare!
Dinner: Little Italy
After an active afternoon, you should be good and hungry for another meal.
Little Italy is another Italian restaurant in Port St. Lucie that we love.
It’s a cute and small mom and pop type place with a great variety of menu options.
For starters, garlic knots, a side salad, and meatballs are great.
For entrees, there’s a variety of pasta dishes from tomato based, to creamy pastas.
We enjoy their lasagna and chicken alfredo.
Desserts are also a must here.
However, the food is so filling you may need to take your dessert home with you for later.
I personally love the chocolate lava cake.
Evening: Escape Room PSL
Escape Room PSL is about 15 minutes away from Little Italy (it’s actually right next to the botanical garden).
They have 3 themed rooms: The Bunker, Vortex, and Simon’s Room II.
They’re all private rooms with moderate difficulty, so I recommend just picking the theme that seems most interesting to you.
We’ve done nearly 100 escape rooms at this point and they all have their own unique qualities that make them fun.
Where To Stay On Florida’s Treasure Coast
There are a ton of hotels and resorts in this area either along the coast or along the inlets, or even along golf courses, so there’s something for everybody.
I personally prefer the Port St. Lucie area since that is what I’m most familiar with and it’s the most centrally located to all of the activities on the itinerary.

Sebastian Inlet State Park: This park is home to a number of shipwrecks, including the 1715 Treasure Fleet.
Vero Beach: This city has a long history of treasure hunting, and there are still many artifacts to be found on its beaches.
Fort Pierce: This city is home to the McLarty Treasure Museum, which houses a collection of artifacts from the 1715 Treasure Fleet.
Jensen Beach: This town is located on the Indian River Lagoon, and there are many opportunities for treasure hunting in the area.

You can take airboat tours around the park and walk a variety of boardwalk and paved trails to see the local wildlife.
